Do you work with adults or adolescents with ADHD, brain injuries, or mental health difficulties—and find that they struggle to internalize what is learned in therapy?
That they find it hard to stay attentive or persist in the therapeutic process?
That they forget or do not complete homework assignments?
That they struggle to implement strategies?
That talking or writing alone is not enough for them, and they need something beyond that for therapy to be effective?
That is exactly why we developed EFI Cards.
EFI Cards are a therapeutic card set designed to support individuals who experience cognitive difficulties in executive functioning and require a tailored therapeutic aid.
The cards are intended for professionals working with adolescents or adults with ADHD, neurological injuries, or mental health challenges, including: occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, educators, coaches, and others.
32 illustrated cards –
16 cards featuring the character EFi (male representation) and 16 cards featuring the character EFrat (female representation), with each card representing a different executive function.
16 definition cards –
For each illustrated card, there is a complementary card that provides a clear verbal explanation of the executive function represented in the illustration.
16 quote cards –
For each illustrated card, there is a complementary card with quotes from individuals describing how the executive function difficulty manifests in their daily lives.
16 strategy cards –
These cards are used in more advanced stages of therapy, after the client has developed awareness of their difficulties.
The strategy cards are divided into two types:
Cards with empty frames, allowing the client to write down a strategy they have identified.
Cards with general strategy headings, under which the chosen strategy can be elaborated.
The card set also includes an instruction booklet with examples and guidance on how to work with the cards.
Do you work with people with ADHD or other executive function impairments?
You are invited to enrich your therapeutic toolkit and purchase the card set.
The cards are designed to help therapists explain complex concepts such as executive functions.
The characters provide a visual representation of abstract executive functions.
Together with simple definitions and real-life quotes, the cards help clients understand how executive functions affect their daily lives and learn how to manage them.
Because individuals with executive function difficulties often experience impairments in learning processes, they may struggle to remember what is learned in therapy.
Combining a visual illustration of the executive function with the strategy learned during therapy can help clients process the session more effectively and support their learning difficulties. This enables clients to apply what they learned in therapy to their everyday lives, even after the therapeutic process has ended.
We designed the illustrated cards to be character-based so that clients can connect to an external figure representing the functional difficulties they experience in daily life. The character illustrations increase awareness of these challenges in an experiential, non-threatening way.
Transferring the internal representation of the client’s difficulty into an external representation allows a separation between the person and their neurological challenges. This separation supports processes that enhance the client’s awareness of their difficulties.
The instruction booklet provides expanded information about executive functions, how to assess their impact on daily life, how to use the cards in therapy, and detailed explanations of strategies as tools for improving daily functioning and managing executive function disorders.

The cards can also be purchased together with a therapy companion notebook at a special bundle price here.
